This Easter, Sculptureum teams up with GIAPO to bring a rich, delicious experience to the heart of Matakana: freshly churned, handcrafted ice cream made with premium local ingredients and produce.
For one week only—Wednesday 16th to Wednesday 23rd April, from 12pm to 4pm—visitors can enjoy GIAPO’s signature creations served from a pop-up ice cream bar set outdoors at Sculptureum (40 Omaha Flats Road). Expect a short menu of indulgent scoops that range from playful and bold to nostalgic and comforting—each made with care, flavour, and creativity in mind.
“It’s about incredible flavour, made fresh and done right,” says Sandra Grant of Sculptureum. “We’re excited to bring together great art and unforgettable ice cream, right here in Matakana.”
Using fresh milk and cream, fruit, herbs, sourced locally, GIAPO brings his signature style of imaginative, texture-rich extra creamy ice cream to one of New Zealand’s most inspiring settings.
“Combining art and ice cream has been a dream of mine since the beginning,” says Gianpaolo Grazioli, founder of GIAPO. “When Sculptureum pitched the idea, I was absolutely thrilled. Ice cream is more than a treat—it’s a canvas. And Sculptureum in Matakana is the perfect place to share that vision and enjoy some of our finest products.”
The GIAPO pop-up will sit within a marquee on the Sculptureum grounds, offering a relaxed spot for families, art lovers, and foodies to indulge before or after exploring the gardens, galleries, and animals.
This is a limited-time experience that blends local flavour with creativity—one scoop at a time.
