Explore Sculptureum

Sculptureum is a unique attraction in Auckland.

It’s currently ranked on Trip Advisor as not only the 4th  best attraction in Auckland but also the fourth best attraction in the whole of New Zealand - after Te Papa, Hobbiton and the Hamilton Gardens.  It combines Gardens, Art Galleries and animals, with one of the country’s best restaurants.

The Sydney Morning Herald has described Sculptureum as a “startlingly original experience.”

There’s nothing like Sculptureum elsewhere in New Zealand or overseas. You have to see it to understand how different it is from anything you’ve seen before.

Many people think that “art” consists of square frames with boring oil paintings in the middle. Sculptureum wants to show you that there are hundreds of different art forms, made from all sorts of different things, many of which are fun and interesting. For example, one of the works on display is a portrait of the actor Marlon Brando made from chewing gum. Another is a portrait of Steve Jobs that’s made of 9 layers of metal.

There are works in the Galleries that are made of wood, resin, plastic, paper, metal, glass, clay, machine parts, sewing machine parts, cable ties and other things.

There are also works by famous artists such as Rodin, Cezanne, Chagall, Andy Warhol, Picasso and Matisse.
