Getting to Sculptureum

  • Sculptureum is located in Matakana, just a short drive from Auckland. The address is 40 Omaha Flats Road, Matakana, New Zealand.

    • Auckland City – 50 minutes to 1 hour via SH1

    • Warkworth – 10 minutes via Matakana Road

    • Whangārei – 1 hour 30 minutes via SH1

General Information

  • Sculptureum is open rain or shine! Complimentary umbrellas are available for guests. If weather conditions become unsafe, Sculptureum will post updates on Facebook.

  • Pets are not permitted within the Sculptureum Gardens and Galleries, with the exception of registered service animals. Dogs are welcome in designated public areas and must be kept under control at all times. Management reserves the right to request the removal of any dog that is not appropriately supervised or causes disruption. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

  • Absolutely! Sculptureum is a great family-friendly destination. Children particularly enjoy:

    • The Palm and Pink Snail Gardens, filled with colourful sculptures.

    • The rabbits and birds in the animal enclosures.

    Please note that Rothko Restaurant is a fine dining space—please be mindful of other guests.

  • Yes! Sculptureum has 1.4km of flat, accessible pathways, making it easy to navigate for wheelchairs and strollers.

    Need a wheelchair? Sculptureum has a limited number available for guests—please request one at the time of booking to ensure availability.

    Note: Some tight turns in the internal galleries and Palm Garden may be difficult for larger powered wheelchairs.

Exploring Sculptureum

  • The Sculptureum Experience takes approximately two hours to explore the sculpture gardens and art galleries.

    If you're planning to make a day of it, we recommend starting with the Garden of Creative Diversity, enjoying lunch at Rothko Restaurant, and then exploring the galleries and back gardens in the afternoon.

  • Yes! If your plans change, Sculptureum tickets are valid for six months from the original booking date. Simply present your pass at the ticket counter when you arrive.

  • While Sculptureum welcomes walk-ins, booking in advance is highly recommended, especially on weekends, public holidays, and during peak summer months.
